Building development at Trinity St Andrew's

TSA is currently raising money to allow them to redevlop the entrance to the church building, as well as provide an additional space for small groups to use. Planning permission has been obtained and the church members have so far raised around £150,000 of the estimated £200,000 needed to complete the work.

Sale of St Andrew's Church and Hall
Sale of St Andrew's Church and Hall

St Andrew’s Methodist and United Reformed Church, located on Newmarket Street in Skipton, is currently on the market with an asking price of £695,000. The property includes a Grade II-listed church building of approximately 5,104 sq ft and a separate church hall of around 9,405 sq ft. The site also offers on-site parking and is situated in a popular market town location, presenting a wide range of potential alternative uses. The decision to sell follows the 2023 merger of St Andrew’s with Trinity Methodist Church, forming a new Local Ecumenical Partnership known as Trinity St Andrew’s. The combined congregation now primarily worships as Trinity St Andrew's at their Westmoreland Street site, which is undergoing improvements to better serve the community. The sale of the Newmarket Street buildings is being managed by the trustees, the Yorkshire Congregational Union. While the exact timeline for the sale has not been specified, it is anticipated that the process will take place over the next 18 months to two years. The church building, constructed between 1914 and 1916, is a notable example of late Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts architecture. Designed by James Totty and William John Hale, it features high-quality craftsmanship, including carved Austrian oak fixtures and fittings.
